BHS Redmen Blog Update! #GoRed #RedmenPride

Student-Spirit Group Started

RW

A group of ambitious senior students have started a student-spirit group called the Redmen Warriors this school year. The group’s focus is to help spread spirit and pride throughout BHS! Their first project was a t-shirt fundraiser. Students who purchased a t-shirt and wear it to our homecoming game next week (Oct. 11th vs. Norwalk) will receive 1/2 off admission. The group has many great ideas to continue the spirit and pride throughout the school year. An important component of the Redmen Warriors’ mission is to include all students, not just athletics. FFA General Livestock Team Competes At Nationals

On Wednesday, five members of our general livestock team traveled to Harrisburg, PA to compete in the Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE) competition. This group was invited to participate based on their top-five finish last school year! The students will return to town on Sunday. We wish them nothing but the best!

College Fair Exposes Juniors & Seniors to 30 Schools

This past week, our guidance department hosted the annual BHS College Fair during the school day. Thirty colleges and universities from the region set up booths in our gymnasium for the event. It was an excellent opportunity for our junior and senior students to further the process of determining their post-high school plans. Students were able to familiarize themselves with the different opportunities that exist at a variety of institutions. Later this school year, our guidance team will invite upperclassmen on a school-sponsored field trip to selected colleges and universities so they can actually visit college campuses. The freshmen will get the same opportunity through our freshmen transition program in the spring.

Redmen Athletics Having Successful Fall

As we near the end of the fall athletics season, we can already say it has been a success on and off the fields of play. Our student-athletes have worked very hard and their efforts have made their high school proud.

For the first time in 20 years, our Redmen golf team won the NOL title! Our Lady Red golf team finished a successful season on Monday at their sectional tournament. Our Lady Red Tennis team is competing today at their sectional tournament in Clyde and have had a solid year. There is a lot of promise for the future all teams.

GolfCurrently, our Redmen and Lady Red Cross-Country teams are competing at a high-level and are poised to make a run at a league title. They will compete at the NOL meet on Saturday, October 12th in Tiffin. Our volleyball team is also performing at a high-level this fall. They have a 13-3 record heading into tonight’s match-up with Sandusky and they look to make some serious noise at the sectional tournament in two weeks. Our Redmen Football team is off to a very respectable 3-2 start halfway through the season. After facing a tough schedule to start the season, the Redmen have another tough stretch the next three weeks (Columbian, Norwalk, Ontario). With the NOL title and playoff hopes still in place, the Redmen are sure to leave it all on the field and give it their all!
