Alumni Spotlight: Michael Bores

Michael Bores, an alumnus from the class of 2005 at Bellevue High School, has been fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a racer. Before this, he played grade school football before racing go-karts at 15. After racing with his go-kart for a few years, he upgraded to his very first dirt late model in 2004.

Bores’ inspiration to want to race was from his father, John Bores, Attica Raceway Park’s track promoter and former dirt late model racer himself. John Bores owned a sprint car team that had National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Chad Kemenah on the team from the late 1990s into the early 2010s. Bores grew up watching the success his father had with his team which ignited his passion for racing.

Since Bores’ first start with go-kart racing, he has been racing for 23 years and counting. He has 9 hard-fought feature wins in the dirt late model division. Bores shared that his largest win was from “the 2020 Attica Ambush, paying him $3,000.” He shared that his biggest goal for his racing future is “wanting to be able to run the entire DirtCar Summer National Late Model Series sometime in the future.”

Bores currently races at his home track, Attica Raceway Park, and plans to pay a visit to other dirt tracks that are within our region for his 2024 race season. We wish him continued success!
